CORPORATE REFUGEE · OWNERSHIP PROFILE

Before we talk about businesses, let’s talk about you.

The Ownership Profile Questionnaire is where the Corporate Refugee process starts. It puts your goals, finances, preferred role, and timeline on paper before a single brand, listing, or deal enters the conversation.

Start with the person, not the product.

Why the process starts here

Most people exploring business ownership start with an opportunity: a franchise brand they recognize, a business for sale, an idea they have been carrying around for years. That is understandable. It is also backwards.

A business can be a good business and still be the wrong business for the person buying it. The economics, the operating role, the risk, and the life the business has to support all need to fit you, not the person who owned it before or the franchisee in the brochure.

The questionnaire gives us a shared starting point. When we talk, we are discussing your situation rather than reacting to whatever opportunity happened to show up first.

What we will look at together

Your answers become the framework for the first conversation. Among the things we work through:

Why now

A layoff, a buyout offer, a plateau, a long-held goal, or simply a sense that the current path no longer fits.

What the business needs to do for you

Income, timing, independence, flexibility, building equity, or something else entirely.

The role you want to play

Owner-operator, manager of managers, building a team, or keeping a hand in your current career for a while.

Capital and risk

What you can invest, what you can afford to lose, and how long you can operate before the business supports you.

Experience and preferences

What you are good at, what you never want to do again, and the kind of work you would actually enjoy.

OWNERSHIP PROFILE QUESTIONNAIRE

Take the Ownership Profile Questionnaire.

Answer at your own pace. Your responses give us a starting point for the first conversation.

If the questionnaire does not load, open it in a new window. Completing it does not commit you to anything. How Plan B and C may be compensated if a transaction is completed is explained in our Disclosures.

THE NEXT STEP

There is rarely only one path forward.

Prefer to talk first? That works too. Book a Corporate Refugee conversation and we can go through the same ground together.
